Practice Group

Practice Group is used for billing purposes when a group of clinicians bill under one TIN. Providers that are part of a group should be linked to this group using their User Profile Setup.

  1. Group Name – Arbitrary value, does not appear on claims
  2. NPI – Group NPI
  3. Interchange Qualifer – Usually 30, determined by clearing house
  4. Tax ID – TIN of practice group
  5. SSN or EIN

Narrative Templates

The Narrative Templates tool allows a user to create or edit documents for a patient’s file cabinet.

A- Create: Allows a user to create a new template from scratch.

B- Edit: Choosing an exiting document from the list allows a user to edit a previously created template.

REPORT: Patient Statement by Batch

Purpose
The batch report will print statements for every patient with a non-zero balance in the selected range of last names. The patient statement will fit in standard double window #9 envelopes. The statement will list the remaining total for all services that have been marked as patient responsibly from the Manage Payments screen.

Filter: Last Name Range, Start Letter, End Letter
Minimum amount of patient balance, Number of days since a statement was generated.

Header: Clinic Address & Pt Info for Standard Envelope Window,

Column Data:DOS, Patient or Payment source, Code, Description, Charges marked as patient responsibility

Footer: Taxes applied table , Balance Due, Patient Account Credit

REPORT: Practice Analysis

Purpose
This report is a breakdown of goods and services performed by clinic any and all providers, also include cash sales.

Filter: Begin Date, End Date, Provider

Header: Title, Date report was run

Column Data: Code, Description, Tax Amount, Amount, Units, Average

Patient payments: Taken in using Accept payment Tools, Total and amount applied

Payer Payments, checks, ins credit Cards, Direct Deposit. Totaled and listed by payer. Payments and adjustment totals.

REPORT: Detailed Day Sheet

Purpose
The Detailed Day Sheet takes a time range as input (*NOTE The time range can be longer than one day *). The Start Date begins at 12:00 AM of the date selected. The End Date occurs at 11:59 PM of the selected date. All charges and payments collected during that period are summarized in the footer section of the report. All payments by patient or patient guarantor are categorized as ‘Patient.’ Funds deposited electronically, manually entered by insurance check, or applied using Auto Post are categorized as Payer.
Filter: Start Date, End Date

Header: Clinic Info, Report Info

Column Data: Patient Name, Claim No., Fee (+), Payments Patient (Cash, Check, Other – CC), Payer Pmts & Adjustments, Applied Credit

Medication Library

The medication library is a comprehensive list of all medication available to be selected for the individual patient medication list.

Chart Talk Medication Library
The Chart Talk Medication Library allows you to search, filter, and add medication and RxNorm codes
  1. Search Box- Type part or all of a medication name *NOTE – does not dynamically filter list
  2. Filter Button- Limits the list results to values containing text from the Search Box
  3. Add Medicine Button- If filter returns no results, this button will add the medication to the library and search for RxNorm values matching the medication name
  4. Recode Button –
    • When Medication is selected – Select a medication from the list by clicking on the row. Press recode while a medication is selected will search for a match in the NLM and return the RxNorm value.
    • When no medication is selected – Chart Talk will attempt to recode the entire medication library. *This can be data intensive and we advise you to only do this after business hours to keep other Chart Talk functionality responsive for all users.
  5. Medicine Name Column – Text value of medication
  6. RxNorm ID Column – coded value of medication
  7. List Navigation Controls – Page forward, backward, jump to page.
