Refunding Patient Account Credit
The Purpose of this page is to show you how to refund a patient account credit in Manage Payments> APT Payments Tab
Starting Point:
- Select Patient
- Manage Payments
- APT Payments Tab
- Locate payment that has an available credit
After clicking “Add Refund”- Refund Transaction box appears
- Who Paid- Select the Guarantor you are issuing the refund to.
- Payment Type- Select the Type of refund.
- Check # Auth- Enter in a value if you would like auth or check # included.
- Amount- Amount of Refund. NOTE: you may only enter what is available as credit for this payment. An error will populate if trying to refund more than what is available.
- Refund Date-Enter date you want to show you issued a refund
- Comments- Type a short comment if you want regarding this refund
**Notice the Amount and Paid Amount now show the refunded amount and how much of it is applied. The Edited amount is now bold to give a visual indicator there is a refund to an original amount. Click the “Refund History” Tab and details will show what the original amount was and what was refunded.
