Refund- Patient Credit

Refunding Patient Account Credit
The Purpose of this page is to show you how to refund a patient account credit in Manage Payments> APT Payments Tab

Starting Point:

  • Select Patient
  • Manage Payments
  • APT Payments Tab
  • Locate payment that has an available credit

After clicking “Add Refund”- Refund Transaction box appears

  1. Who Paid- Select the Guarantor you are issuing the refund to.
  2. Payment Type- Select the Type of refund.
  3. Check # Auth- Enter in a value if you would like auth or check # included.
  4. Amount- Amount of Refund. NOTE: you may only enter what is available as credit for this payment. An error will populate if trying to refund more than what is available.
  5. Refund Date-Enter date you want to show you issued a refund
  6. Comments- Type a short comment if you want regarding this refund

**Notice the Amount and Paid Amount now show the refunded amount and how much of it is applied. The Edited amount is now bold to give a visual indicator there is a refund to an original amount. Click the “Refund History” Tab and details will show what the original amount was and what was refunded.
